Wastewater pumps are facilities that are charged with the removal of sewage to processing sites. Pumping stations in wastewater plants are designed to handle raw sewage fed from underground pipelines. Wastewater is stored in an underground pit, known as a wet well. The well is fitted with electrical instrumentation to detect sewage levels. When the sewage rises to a predetermined point, a pump will start to lift the sewage upward through a pressurised pipe system. The sewage is lifted until it arrives at it's destination. This process is repeated until the sewage reaches a treatment plant.
