UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), known also as drones or UASs (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) are remotely-controlled or self-guided technologies used by military forces around the world. Their roles include ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance), combat and logistics. Equipped with various sensors, some UAVs can also carry weapons. Remotely-operated UAVs are
controlled by one or more pilots operating them at ground level, while self-guided UAVs draw on internal computer systems to follow pre-programmed routes and commands during fully autonomous missions.
