Pepsico recalls Doritos Chilli Heatwave crisps due to unlabelled ingredients, as the product contains milk and cheese which could cause an allergic reaction.

Food safety bosses at Pepsico have had to issued a recall notice over their high;y popular 'Doritos Chilli Heatwave' tortilla chips. The spicy snack could potentially cause allergic reactions due to unlabelled milk and cheese ingredients. The following ingredients: Milk, cheese powder and milk protein have been used in the flavourings, which may be dangerous to lactose-intolerant consumers.

The parent company for Doritos, Pepsico, have taken the decision to ask for the items to be sent back after it was revealed that the milk and dairy ingredients faile to be mentioned on the packaging.

In a notice released online, the company stated:

'A limited number of Doritos Chilli Heatwave sharing packs are being recalled as incorrect product may have been packed into the bags. The affected product contains flavourings which contain milk, cheese powder and milk protein which are not included in the ingredients list.'  they added: 'We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.'


  • The bags affected are packs of 150g and 90g with October 7 2017 as the best before date.
  • They are part of the batch code GBC 209 166 and GBC 209 167.
