Mediation Services are required and often sought when two parties are unable to reach an agreement. They call in an impartial third party, the mediator, who helps two or more people reach an agreement or satisfactory conclusion. Any agreement does not come from the mediator but from the two parties in dispute. The mediator is impartial and can only guide the way forward; she/he is not there to judge or to say one party is right and the other wrong. They do not even tell them what to do but they do get a dialogue going to hopefully resolve the dispute. The mediator is in charge of the process of seeking to resolve the problem but not the outcome. Mediators may be employees trained and accredited by an external mediation service who act as internal mediators in addition to their day jobs. Or they may be from an external mediation provider. They can work individually or in pairs as co-mediators
