Topics include general firefighting skills, health and safety measures together with operations and procedures for reporting and suppressing fires and evacuating safely
in the event of a fire. Firefighters should be aware of fire hazards including smoke, toxic atmospheres, high temperatures and lack of oxygen. Other skills include search, rescue and medical capabilities for a range of environments such as aircraft, vehicles and confined spaces.
