Cryogenic gases are the gases that are commonly used in the process of cryogenically freezing an item. There are many gases that can be used, but the common ones are hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. Other gases that can be used include helium, neon and normal air. Liquid gases such as nitrogen and helium are most commonly used in cryogenic applications. They are stored in Dewar Flasks, which are double walled vessels with a high vacuum between them which prevents heat transfer from outside to the liquid. They are traditionally made from glass and metal.
