Contactless car park entry involves the entry to a car park with no contact whatsoever. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) takes note of the number plate of a car, and the barrier raises so entry can be gained. We could find this technology at an industrial or specialised business or laboratory. Some vehicles are fitted with a dongle and as the vehicle approaches, the barrier senses the dongle and raises to allow the vehicle entry and exit from the complex. Some commercial multi-storey car parks also have this technology. Upon exit the ANPR technology reads the number plate and informs the driver how much money his parking time is worth. He then pays that at a machine to his right, the barrier raises, and he is free to leave.
