Waterblasting Technologies, Inc. manufactures the Stripe Hog Waterblasting System and Smart Vac Vacuum Systems which are used to remove rubber deposits from touchdown zones on runways and all types of traffic markings from asphalt and concrete runways and roadways.
The Stripe Hog Waterblasting System quickly and completely removes all types of durable traffic markings from asphalt and concrete surfaces with the least amount of negative impact to the surface. The Stripe Hog does its work using many needle sharp 40,000 psi water jets and a powerful vacuum recovery system, called the Smart Vac that leaves the road or runway clean and almost dry. The resulting debris is quickly dehydrated using a patented process, so that the debris can then be dumped in a dried state in one big clump that easily falls from the tank making the jobsite cleanup easy and complete.more
Airport and Runway Solutions
Waterblasting Technologies is the world-leading manufacturer of waterblasting equipment for runway rubber removal. The world-renowned Stripe Hog waterblasting system is operating in 35 countries on six continents, and has more units working around the world than its top four competitors combined. Customers describe the operating system as being innovative, efficient, productive, versatile, profitable and dependable. All units operate at 40,000 psi (2750 bar) and, dependent upon the model, are capable for removal widths from 6-72 inches (15.2-182.9 cm).
With six chassis-mounted systems, two skid-mounted systems, a full line of attachment options and production capabilities from 6-12 gallon a minute (22.7-45.4 liters a minute), there's no need for a 'one size fits all' machine.
Runway Rubber Removal
Every time an airplane lands it leaves a small amount of rubber on the runway surface. This rubber melts to the surface, working its way into the grooves cut into the runway for water drainage and additional friction. Overtime, this rubber builds up on the runway surface causing it to loose its friction characteristics, becoming slippery and eventually unsafe for aircrafts to land on. This rubber also starts obscuring runway paint markings creating additional safety concerns.
Stripe Hogs quickly and effectively removes runway rubber deposits, returning the necessary friction characteristics to the surface without adversely affecting the surface profile.
Because Stripe Hogs only use water there are messy caustic chemicals to clean up leaving the clean and relatively dry allowing the runway to be used almost immediately after cleaning.
The Stripe Hog quickly and completely removes all types of durable markings from asphalt and concrete applications while not adversely affecting surfaces even if that surface is grooved or very porous.
The complete removal of all forms of durable traffic markings from all surfaces has never been as quick, clean and cost efficient. And perhaps best of all, very little to no confusing mark left behind, NO re-surfacing, and NO secondary clean-up or drying necessary.Thermoplastic, waterborne paints, epoxy paints, rubberized paints, even temporary and permanent foil backed or waffle tapes do not stand a chance against the 40,000 psi (2750 bar), Stripe Hog!
The very best in high-pressure waterblasting and simultaneous vacuum recovery now exist on a single, fully self-contained, mobile unit.
Airport Paint Rejuvenation
Paint cleaning & rejuvenation isn't just for roads and bridges, this process can also be used at airports as well, rejuvenating runway center lines quickly and cost effectively. Thanks to the Stripe Hog, roads and runways alike will have a higher degree of safety with little to no closure time.
The Stripe Hog Waterblasting System can remove markings, rubber, contaminates, algae, etc. from markings restoring them to desired reflectivity levels. This cleaning and rejuvenation process will increase the longevity of paint markings, reducing the cost and frequency of re-painting, while at the same time instilling a greater level of safety at your airport.
