TENMAT is proud and honoured to have been awarded the Queens Award for International Trade 2013, which follows our success in winning the Queens Award for Innovation 2012.
TENMAT is at the forefront of composite material innovation and manufacture, specialising in the areas of Bearings and Wear Components, Fire Protection, Engineering Ceramics and High Temperature Resistant Materials.
FEROFORM and RAILKO are TENMAT brands. Their bearings offer ship owners, shipyards, designers and OEM's considerable benefits in terms of performance, reliability, ease of use, availability and design. They can be supplied in various forms including bushes, fully machined bearings, staves etc.more
FEROFORM and RAILKO bearings provide high compressive strength, durability, dimensional stability, and low friction. Their excellent wear characteristics promote long life, especially in arduous abrasive and sand laden waters. Thus reducing maintenance costs for the end users.
Marine Bearings from Railko
Navies and merchant fleets around the world use RAILKO NF21 & FEROFORM T14 for their stern tube and rudder bearing applications, and it has been fitted in more than 8000 vessels worldwide fore both surface and sub-sea applications.
These materials are high wear resistant materials offering low friction rates and are able to operate without need for lubrication, thereby reducing operational and maintenance costs. They are a "fit and forget" solution for applications such as hatch cover pads, slipway pads, stern rollers, davits, deck machinery and marine cranes
Our bearing materials are non-metallic and have been specially designed to cope with extremes of operating conditions: loads, speeds, temperature fluctuations, dirty conditions, etc. Depending on the application and grade, these thermosetting resin laminates can operate dry, partially lubricated, or fully lubricated in oil or seawater.
Both Tenmat & Railko's marine bearings offer significant advantages in terms of reduced vessel through-life operating costs: reduced maintenance, improved reliability and ‘kindness' to shaft materials. They are used as propeller shaft bearings, rudder bearings, steering gear and deck machinery bushes.
