The company TeAx Technology UG (haftungsbeschränkt) was founded in February 2013 by Markus Ax and Stefan Thamke. The two founders were active during their many years of research at the University of Siegen in various projects in the field of outdoor robotics.
First on the ground with the robot AMOR and from 2008 also with quadrotor UAVs from microdrones in the air.
Due to the significant participation in the Airshield project experience has been gained in the area of controlling UAVs over IP networks and the coordination of UAV swarms under real conditions. In other projects this could be supplemented by experience in UAV based laser scanning and autonomous ground air cooperation. For example, an anti-collision system for UAVs has been developed and successfully used as well as laser scans successfully performed for the check of high-voltage transmission lines.
In these research activities real outdoor applications were always the focus. So many practical problems had to be solved in the field of outdoor robotics, especially in concunjction with UAV payloads and in the field of radio communications.
Self-developed hardware and software was used to a great extent in these activities.
