Sovereign Partners have added the Goodlife brand of bagasse compostable packaging to their range. GoodLife is a complete range of bagasse plates, bowls, take-out boxes and food containers. All moulded fibre (Bagasse) products are produced from pulped sugar cane, a sustainable and renewable resource. Bagasse is 100% biodegradable, microwaveable, ovenable up to 220ºC, impervious to cooking oil up to 130ºC, non-absorbent and freezer safe to -25ºC.

The VIP cup was introduced in 2013 and is already the biggest selling cup in the Signature range.  VIP cups are an attractive alternative to the ripple cup that look and feel better, while competing with the ubiquitous ripple cup on price.

Packaging Innovation

Sovereign were the first company in the UK to introduce a sip through lid made from bagasse under the GoodLife range.  Now the second generation of the bagasse sip lid is here.  The beautifully designed lid achieves the look and feel of standard plastic lid but is 100% compostable.  Over two years in the making the lid is the most unique design bagasse lid on the market today.

“The one thing we wanted to achieve with our latest lid is to have a lid made from bagasse that looks like a regular plastic lid.  With our new lid we feel we have achieved this.  The new lid has sharp right angle ridges that until now have been very difficult to achieve in the manufacture of bagasse products.  Now we have a lid that looks like a standard sip lid but you can also tell it is an environmentally friendly product as soon as you see it.  There are other bio-plastic lids on the market that are only distinguishable from standard PS lids to the trained eye.  Now there is a lid that ticks all the boxes for looks and performance that has never been available before.”
