A Perkins 3008-powered emergency diesel generator set, rated at 250kWe, is used on the Royal Navy's Duke Class (Type 23) frigate and Sandown Class single role mine hunter. Perkins engines rated at up to 600kW (800bhp) have also been supplied for propulsion of small patrol and auxiliary naval vessels.

Vosper Thornycroft chose Caterpillar 3406 ship service generator sets - rated at 250kWe - for the company's River Class offshore patrol vessels for the Royal Navy.
