Bag and sack filling machines are used across many industries, including food and beverage, pharmaceutical and construction. A vertical form fill sealing machine is commonly used in food and beverage. It creates a bag from thin plastic, first creating a seal at the bottom on the bag whilst simultaneously filling it with product, then sealing the other end, creating an airtight bag. There are two types, the single web machine system or the double web machine system. They fundamentally operate the same way but with some subtle differences as a single web is for a two side seal and a double is for a four side seal.
