Authentication and authorisation are a combined process for when users try to access a site, server, building or resources. Authentication involves the user proving their identity to the server. The most common form of this is a username and password process. Other methods involve retina scans, voice recognition or fingerprinting. Once the server has identified the
user as legit, authorisation may then be needed to access further information or perform tasks. It grants the user access to resources and commands that other users may not have. Both processes enforce security to protect data, information and personal identity. Browse our list of suppliers to find out more.
