Airport simulation systems are a crucial part of training in the aviation industry. Simulators are used in a wide variety of training techniques, the most common of which are for pilot training whilst in the early stages of their training. Simulators essentially recreate real-life situations. A model is created whereby a trainee pilot can work in a real life situation with the ability to make mistakes free of damage to an aircraft.

Simulation can also be used in other aspects of training, for example situations within the cabin of an air craft, for example if a fire were to break out, how would the cabin crew react and what steps can be taken? Again, simulation offers the chance to train in these situations with no immediate danger to personnel.
